The Southwest
Synergy Board meets the second Thursday of each month to review
Chapter business. Specifically, the Board
members plan Chapter
meetings and special events, coordinate meeting host locations and
presenters, market the Chapter and recruit new members publish the
bi-monthly newsletter, respond to all Chapter communications, manage
the financial records of the organization, and maintain the Chapter
web site and database.

Leads all Chapter meetings and social activities. Ensures that officer positions are filled, and oversees annual officer nomination and election processes. Represents the Chapter on all official HDI matters. Oversees all Chapter activities with and through other officers. Takes steps to ensure that all officers and members abide by the Help Desk Institute Local Chapter Operating Principles, Policies and Procedures Agreement. |

Identifies topics, speakers, and meeting agendas with the assistance of a programs committee, other board members, and Chapter members. Leads Chapter meetings and social activities in the President’s absence. Serves as the primary contact person for fielding educational program ideas and requests and communicating these ideas to HDI National, as well as presenting them on the website.

Designs and implements strategies for building Local Chapter membership. Supports the Vice President of Programs officer in leading Chapter meetings and other activities in the President’s absence. Coordinates membership drives and related activities with the Vice President of Programs. Establishes committees or programs to build membership. The Vice President of Membership has access on a continuous basis to the National Help Desk Institute member and prospect database for their specific geographic area.

Responsible for Local Chapter expenditures and receipts and maintenance of financial transactions related to the Local Chapter. Ensures that all financial commitments are for Local Chapter purposes only and that HDI National is not liable for Local Chapter expenses, liabilities or financial obligations, or taxes associated with Local Chapter activities.

Maintains Chapter mailing list and official records of Chapter activities. Records minutes of Chapter meetings and issues the meeting agenda items. Acts as primary liaison between the Local Chapter and HDI National. Provides Help Desk Institute National with at least one copy of all announcements, newsletters, and other materials that are produced and distributed by the Chapter or on behalf of the Chapter. The Vice President of Communications works directly with other officers to contact members and prospects with meeting announcements, sending minutes and communicating with local members.
